At Brave, we want to make crypto usable and defi accessible for everyone, and towards that end we are excited to share the progress we have made since we published the BAT Roadmap 2.0 in February 2021.

Brave Wallet

  • Finalized internal spec for the wallet.
  • Created native HD wallet keyring for Ethereum and Bitcoin support.
  • Started developing Brave native crypto wallet UI for Desktop, Android, and iOS.
  • Created a native in-page provider (window.ethereum) which does not require an extension.
  • Created native ETH JSON RPC API support.
  • Implemented RLP encoding and other utilities for encoding Ethereum transactions.

Brave Today now lets users add RSS feeds to customize their favorite content

Brave Today, the privacy-preserving news reader integrated into the Brave browser, now features RSS feeds for users. This option is available today with Brave’s iOS app update (version 1.24), and will soon be coming to the Brave desktop browser. This gives users the ability to fully customize the content in their stream by simply adding the RSS feed of their favorite publisher, creator, or podcaster. Brave Today was launched last December, and currently features over 300 content sources in 16 categories.

UPDATE: Both ERC-20 (Ethereum) and BEP-20 (Binance Smart Chain) versions of the BAT token are supported and able to be used to purchase land at the 20% discount via the Splinterlands website!

Splinterlands will be offering a 20% discount on all land claim purchases through the in-game shop when paying in Basic Attention Token (BAT) through the month of April!

BAT tokens will need to be held in a web3-enabled wallet that can connect with the Splinterlands website. We highly recommend using either the Brave browser’s built-in crypto wallets or the Metamask browser extension. Additional instructions and troubleshooting information will be available on the purchase details popup in the Splinterlands website.

The internet browser was the piece of software that is the most responsible for starting the internet revolution, and is now the most universal and used application for work, life and all things in-between.

However, when we think about browsing the internet, we often ignore the browser itself. Instead, we think about all the things we do online.


The most emblematic is Brave (the only new browser that gets strong adoption). With its blockchain and token rewarding users for their “attention”.
